I just installed a smc network card in my 1.25 dual G4 mirror door drive. Everything worked great. Then i pluged in my second display. A few min. later kernal panic. So here i am thinking that there is some compatiblty issue, but to make a long story short i had stupidy put the network card right next to my graphics card. It was generating so much heat the the (cheap) network card no longer functioned correctly. I moved it to the other side of the mo-board, and now everything is great and stable. No more kernal panics.
Any one else have a problem like this before?

I've never had the problem, but I'm not really all that surprised by it. What video card do you have? They do give off a lot of heat, especially the more high performance/gaming cards.

Its a GeForce4 Ti 4600 /w 128 MB . Its the one that came stock with the machine. I'm thinking that dual displays at 1280 x 1024 gives the card a run for its money.

its hilarious how apple still sells that card for 400 dollars when its worth more like a hundred. but its an excellent card. i have the 4400 on my pc and i still run games at full max with no lag.
