Hey, splash this around to people, I need as many to vote as possible (Class project). Anyway, Mac is near the bottom (only winnding over BSD, VMS and Other.
Even loosing to BeOS and Windows...
Would some of you like to vote and support your OS? (preffered OS and Web browser Poll).
All your help is appreciated. I tried posting on Macslash yesterday but it didn't take :-(

Disclaimer:
Although I am not a mac user (x86 for versitility: Windows, Linux, BeOS, I might get a Mac later just to be complete, but I have to justify spending the money because I'm not going to go in and just get a imac), I do want this poll to be fair, and hence I want everyone interested to vote if they can.

Thank all of you who voted...
I will get the mac if I have time$$, though regrettably, my favorite OS is dead... I'll alway be a BeOS fan at heart...
OBeOS, where art thou?
I haven't gotten to really use OS X yet, so I can't completely rule out mac... But I figure, as I said, if I get one, I'm not going for an iMac (One, I nead a large screen, 2 with all those comps, do you really think I'd have a lot of monitors, nope, it's KVM city + a nice 19" KDS...
But, this isn't a place for wars on OS (You need an OS Wars segment of the forum, like BeGroovy has! The danger! The Excitement!)

I just went and voted, and saw the mac now is way beyond any of the other systems with over half the votes.
Good show:D

Yes, it is.
However the polls are now closed... I have to wait to find someone else willing to host the survey since the current host does not feel it can handle the required throughput and threat of such a religeous topic...
I don't blame them.
The zealots are massed with their twitchy fingers hovering over their single button mice ready to avenge the bad mouthing of the one true and righteous OS!
Seriously though, Apple sure does make a nice little OS and hardware combo, you won't regret picking one up.
Oh yeah! What you got against Seattle?

the survey is fixed and at a new location:

note: I have nothing against Seattle, but MS is pretty much based there, so I thought a lot of you people here wouldn't be fond of Seattle.

Sorry, just had to paraphase, but its quite true. When surveys such as these (ones in which volunteers register a vote) are conducted, they tend to be one sided, its not a very valid poll. In order for it to work correctly you need to take a randome sampling of individuals (my college statistics classes just came back to haunt me).
Its nice to see the Mac ahead of the competition, but I'd rather see a valid survey instead.

Redmond. MS is in a shiny little suburb on the other side of the lake called Redmond. Seattle is a little dirtier and we have real homeless people for the people from Redmond to look at as they creep their giant SUV's through town on weekends.

hey is redmond a suburb of seattle? or are they two completely different entities?
and if any mac user lived in redmond, that would be so cool...you know there are plenty of pc users in cupertino
