i think we can officially expect Apple to implement a transparent dock option. if they don't, well aren't we usually excited about the way they seem to know the pulse of their users??

As perhaps you can tell by my array of applications, I am a graphic designer....

hehe, i meant to say this before... but i keep looking at peoples' docks and not recognizing some icon or another, and so i go and drag over it, as though it will magnify and show me the name of the app... haha. ahh. i need to sleep

Oh well, there are more important things to do with my life than to worry about that kind of junk...

jaykk, noticed you've got the 'show desktop'-app.
that is an app, when you click it, it reveals your desktop right? And immediately with it any open finder window.
I'll let you in on a little secret:
if press apple-alt and then click on finder (in the dock), that does exactly the same thing.
Likewise if you click on any open app while holding apple-alt that reveals all open windows of that particular app, and hides all others.
and there's more...
apple-alt-d automatically hides, reveals your dock. couldn't be any easier.
Ain't that a sweet? X has this built in, I guess that the guys who wrote that did not know of these feature (guess they are winblows' users :D) Sorry no offence very well written of course, because I wouldn't have a vlue how to write such a thing.

How do you do that? I know how to make it transparent, but I can't find anything to get rid of the lines.

This (http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=11295&db=mac) is a script to make the dock fully transparent, and to change the color of the indicator triangles. I 'm pretty sure there's a way to do it in the terminal, but this way is a lot easier. It just looks freaky to see your password flying around the screen fully readable, but dems da breaks of not doing it yourself.
Personally, I think the white vectors look awful. The default dock is so ugly, it makes me want to run back to 9.

On behalf of Mac15, only Aussies would know this one I think...it's a thirdparty application for connecting to Telstra Bigpond Advance for broadband...you see, Telstra doesn't support OSX yet so yeah..anyway, here's mine..

Course Telstra sux..especially their ADSL...the X is XDarwin or the osx version of xfree86...it's useful for somethings but I mostly just use it for The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org) which is for all you people that don't know, a image manipulator similar to photoshop which is free and better than anything else like photoshop (except photoshop)...
