While I save up for Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, are there any free wysiwyg website editors for OS X that people can recommend?
(not html editors, wysiwyg editors)

Netscape/Mozilla Composer.
There's probably some on VersionTracker as well.

Macromedia Contribute is free with a .Mac account. Haven't used it much but thought I would mention it...

Contribute is for working with pre-existing pages and templates, not for creating new ones.

Do they have a trial d/l you can try? I think Adobe still has a trial d/l for GoLive (old version) and will probably have the new one up soon. They're all good for about 30 days. And, yeah, Version Tracker has some good shareware.
If you are a student or teacher, you can get cheap educational software. DW for like $100, Macromedia Studio for around $200.
