Is GIMP any good? How different is it from Photoshop? I'm familiar with photoshop and I use it for windows, but I dont have PS for mac. I'm looking for some free and legal alternatives. Is it easier or more difficuly to use than PS?

Duff-Man says...it is *very* good for the price :D heheh. But seriously, I am not an expert though I have toyed with it a bit. There is a lot in it - maybe not everything that is in Photoshop but not that far off either. In some ways it is between PS Elements and PS perhaps?

If you are familiar with PS and how it functions maybe you ought to look at Adobe's "cross-grades" - I am not certain of the exact details for the latest PS but they usually offer very good deals to upgrade between/across platforms...oh yeah!

You can get a "cross-grade" for just the price of shipping (and a promise to destroy the Windows version you have) or for the upgrade price if you need/want to upgrade, as well. Just call Adobe and they'll set it up for you.
