Just wondering if anyone use an Airport Express to add wireless to an existing wired network.

So... wired network + Airport Express = wireless access to the wired network.

Not Modem + Airport Express.

Well I wanted to do the following, I have a PC connected to the wired network, but I also want my Mac to connect to the network wirelessly:

PC <=> wired network <=> AirportExpress <=> Mac.

And I want to connect one printer and one speaker on the Airport Express, so it is shared between my Mac and PC.

Is that possible?

Anyway my PC runs Unix, not Windows... so it should be very compatible with Macs, since OS X is also Unix, right?

I do this, I run an ethernet cable from my d-link router to my AE and use the AE fro access for my MB. I had problems with it getting kicked off my d-link whenever something else connected and making the AE an access point.

As far as interoperability it isn't a problem, my wife's PC laptop still has access to wireless printing ad airtunes.

My setup is modem <==> d-link wireless router <==> AE <==> Mac
