Scary!
Were any MacRumors members in the area when it hit?

that is scary stuff. I just got back from Myrtle Beach and I can see how hurricanes and tornadoes can do so much damage - the land is so flat...perfect for storms to whip up and have nothing to stop them :(
thankfully, it doesn't look like anyone was killed.

I've read that the tornado--it they can confirm it!--hit at the worst places possible in Atlanta: the Georgia Dome/Philips Center/Centennial Park/CNN Center area and the nearby Cabbagetown historical district.
As such, many events planned for Atlanta have been cancelled or moved, and (in my opinion!) it may have cost that city US$120 million or more in damages and lost tourist revenue.

Wow, that must have been scary. I can not think of the last time a tornado hit in the middle of a large city like that. :o
