Hello,

I just tested my Tripp Lite Omni1000LCD UPS on my Mac Pro 2.8ghz 2xQuad running 10.5.2 and was horrified to find that the auto shut down on battery power does not work.

The "Power Source" stays as "Power Adapter" by the way, which would explain why the UPS settings are not in effect.

The USB device tree sees the UPS fine ( tried a different cable just in case ).

The logs show an "IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a device." /"The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 1 of hub @ location: 0xfd500000)" message over and over

Swapped the Omni1000LCD on to a eMac running 10.4.11, same "Energy Saver" setting for UPS:

pmset -g ups
UPS settings:
haltlevel on 50
haltafter on 1

pulled the plug, 60 seconds ( give or take ) shut down starts fine.

I tried a APC BX1500LCD on the Mac Pro and it worked fine so it would appear its the Tripp Lite / 10.5.2 combo.

Hope this helps some one!
