iTunes and AAC

I hate how when I transferred songs from a store bought CD to AAC format, it still does that 3x only burnable to playlist thing....Like I mean..I bought the CD. I think i should be able to burn a song over and over as I wish.

uh, you can burn a playlist 10 times, and a song unlimited times as long as it's not the same exact playlist. this is far more leeway than the law allows... you do not have the right to burn or copy a song as many times as you wish, whether you buy it or not. you have the right to make one (1) backup copy. protected AAC (and correct me if i'm wrong, but don't ripped CDs avoid protected AAC entirely? just normal AAC?) gives you a lot more freedom.

edit: any file i've ripped as AAC is not protected and is thus not bound by the iTMS restrictions. good try tho.

Lemme see if I understand, as your wording kind of threw me off... You mean restrictions on the number of times you can burn a playlist, similar to iTMS?

I have never actually tried to burn AAC to MP3 to copy a disc. I didn't realize it had limitations. I make disc images and burn them directly so that I don't lose quality or the integrity of song gaps. Then the copy will still load titles from the net.

go to www.download.com and grab some programs that are designed for the mac(CD burner, music/video plaver, etc), all of these programs have no inbuilt restrictons like iTunes.

Remember that apple aren't the only people to write programs for the mac.

if its not restricted then how come when I click burn all the other songs that i haven't burned before are allowed to be burned but the other ones which I have already burned are gray/blocked out. And the only reason I'm making so many copies is becauseits for the car and I just throw them and eventually the cheap discs that i buy get scratched. So I have to throw them out.
