ipod not removing correctly in panther

I just upgraded (clean install) to panther today on my 12" 867 PB and when I eject my ipod from the desktop and then remove the firewire plug, it always tells me that I did not remove the device properly. How is this possible if I ejected it and it's not showing in the Finder/Desktop anymore?
BTW-I am up to date on software updates.
Other than this small bit of weirdness, panther ROCKS!

maybe you have to wait a while before removing it..Does the iPod say OKAY TO DISCONNECT?

No big deal, just wondering if anyone else had the same prob...

Its no big deal but its just wierd.....Has any Apple Discussions come up on this issue?
