warcraft 3 tft wotn install

its a legit copy on a 2.0 ghz c2d MacBook

Do you have the RoC universal patch installed? As far as I know, you have to install the patch after the expansion...

[Edit] Just for clarification on what I'm talking about, the installation order, as far as I know, is WC3:RoC -> WC3:TFT Expansion -> TFT Universal Patch. You can't apply the universal patch then install the expansion as it changes too many things...

ok i registered just to tell you that your disc is scratched.

You can do the toothpaste trick (worked for me) put a bit of toothpaste on the disk, rub it on smoothly leave it for a while and run it again. it will install, update wc3 tft and you wont need the disc anymore as the latest patch fixes that issue.

or you can borrow the disc from someone else to install, do the update and give the disc back.

This is exactly correct. The 1.21 patch must be applied last. The reason this is, is that the file layout to support Intel native Warcraft III, is sufficiently different from what the TFT installer expects to see, that the TFT installer gets stuck.

So install RoC, then TFT, then patch to 1.21.
