After installing Windows XP under Boot Camp, I found an icon for the Windows partition under the Mac OS/X desktop. Is it ok to change the name from "NO NAME" to something else?

AFAIK, however, you need to do it when you boot into Windows, under My Computer etc otherwise you risk messing it up on the Mac side, and not having it recognised.
Yes.

I've done it from the Mac side with no issues whatsoever, and have not heard of any problems with doing so. However, feel free to do it on the Windows side if you don't want to take any chances :)

I read on another thread here that some people had issues renaming on the Mac side, and warned against it, so I was just trying to err on the side of caution for the OP.

Yep, I certainly wasn't trying to imply that you were wrong :)

No probs, Nermal, I just wanted the OP to be careful - in case he/she messed up the partition.
Better safe than sorry (as the bishop said ...)
