iPod Nano-No low volume with Super.fi.pro 5 earbuds - either super quiet or really loud...

This sounds like a partially broken cable or cracked solder joint to me -- it acts like a resistor until the voltage (volume) builds up high enough to bridge the gap. Warranty time. Don't know if it's the phones or the iPod though.
