Is it possible to bypass the built in isight on my macbook pro and use a USB webcam instead? I tried the webcam I use with my G5 and have no luck, only the isight camera will function.

As far as I know, the external iSight is the only other camera that is natively usable other than the built-in one.
However, there is software that allows you to use a USB camera with iChat, see here. (http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iusbcam/) Other than that, I don't know how to get a USB webcam working. There may some free alternative somewhere...
Make sure your webcam is compatible though.

I believe I also heard at the Apple store that MS makes a really good 30 dollar one also. eCamm is available on amazon and they have a twin pack.

Yes that works, but you can only use it with Ichat. I am looking for software that will alow my USB cam to work with the more popular sources such as Yahoo messenger.
