I don't regularly use Safari, but I noticed this Hide Safari and Hide others option. What exactly are they and what do they do? I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

hide Safari is self explanatory. it hides the Safari application including any browser window(s) you have open.
hide others hides all the other applications and their window(s) other than the one you have in focus.
hide others hides all the other applications and their window(s) other than the one you have in focus.
