Can you show us where on the front page Airport Express handles HDD's?

I'm looking and all I see is Airport Extreme.

To the OP, this was discussed in the article from the front page and on the Wi-Fi page on apple.com that AE still is only used for wireless printing. Might be a hardware restriction for the small device as to why it can't support HDD's who knows.

Would be sweet if it did.

http://www.macworld.com/article/132611/2008/03/firmware.html

"Compatible with Time Capsule, AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express firmware version 7.3.1 includes bug fixes, according to Apple. The AirPort Extreme Base Station firmware also includes security fixes."

Remember, Apple silently intro'd the new AE with Wireless N.

ok people, the airport express really does not support a HDD. i have it all update and sat next to me with a hdd plugged in and nothing. even on the airport utility menu it has 'disks' grayed out. i have got the new 'n' one and applied all updates. firm ware is at 3.1

I think that it is only the new AE (w/ Wireless N). Is this what you have?

Still does not confirm that AE DOES in fact support HDD. Just says it updates it for bug fixes.

Well I stand corrected then. But didn't you read the same thing in that article that I posted above? It sure sounds to me that the AE is supported....

Nope, just says the 3 devices were updated with firmware, bug fixes, but didn't specify they all supported HDD.

Nice, problem solved then.... But it is too bad that the AE doesn't support this feature.

Now sure how many Apple certified hardware/software developers here that worked on the AE but without calling a level 3 tech support person at Apple I would probably venture to say combination of both hardware and software.
