Hi, I am just wondering if it is possible for me to access my music/vids and word documents which are on a HDD that will be connected with airport base station with my old imac (that doesnt have wifi built in).
Also how do I know what format my external is on and what format does it have to be on and how do I change it.
Thanks,
ChrisN

All you need is the AirDisk software installed, that should do it. If the external drive is connected directly to the comptuer, just Get Info on the drive and it will tell you the format.

So my non wifi imac would be able to access the files on the hdd connected to base station?
When I do apple I the format it says Mac OS Extended (Journaled) so is there a specific format it has to be?
Thanks,
ChrisN

Mac OS Extended is also called HFS+. You are fine. I think HFS, HFS+, or FAT32 will work fine.
