Stop Sync from Apple TV to iTunes

I have bought a few TV show series on the ATV which are obviously large files. I have plenty of room on the ATV but my hard drive on my laptop is beginning to get full.

My question is... can I stop these shows transferring to my pc as I only want to watch them on my tv? If so, what settings do I need to change?

Your best option is to not sync at all. Right now Apple assumes that if you are linked to an iTunes library, the iTunes library is your main storage for your media. This makes sense, but it also means that you need plenty of space. Personally, I use my desktop machine at the iTunes library host, and feed it a a nice big drive for everything.
