Autofill in safari

How do i make my imac (running leopard 10.5.2) store my usernames and passwords in safari. On some websites i was asked the first time i visited them whether i wanted it to autofill them, but it does not do this all of the time, and there are some of the sites that i want it to store and auto fill my information.

open Autofill in Safari's preferences and make sure "User names and passwords" in ticked. then click "edit". are there any sites which have "dont remember" or something similar? remove them and try and re-enter your username and password on those sites to see if the remember password "blind" pops down again.

Safari doesnt recognise the username and password box for some sites and wont prompt you. my Uni website is like that for me. try a website that you know should work like MacRumors.
