It seems that after MWNY 02 all the older members disapeered.

John who?
Sorry, just had to. I've only heard rumors and seen a few of your posts from a thread sparkleytone resurected a while back, its in the converts section. All the old school was there, very entertaining and I've not seen anything like it since I've been posting.
Mischief and his pie throwing don't even come close.:D

is that this got boring. Arguing over nothing is a nice way to spend some lazy summer afternoons, and spikey and kela were quite amusing...but that can only go so far.
I also got pretty frustrated at so many of the rumors being...well...deal wrong. I began to adopt a "wait and see what comes and don't think too hard about what might come" approach, and I think I'm happier (and certainly much more sane) for it.
It's nice to see that the boards are still alive and well, though.

So does this mean that you're not going to post again until another 5 months goes by?

since you have left, this website has become much more than a rumors board...general discussions is our "nothing related to mac rumors" discussion board and it is a lot of fun
we need your ivy league input...but since you have been gone, a dude from a baby ivy, ftaok from drexel univ. in penn, has come onto these boards
so you must enlighten us regular minds;) :D

thanks for the link to the old thread. i first saw spikey while still a lurkster in december of 2001----but never did i see a thread like that.
it was like jefhatfield innocently stumbled into some bizarre self-serving performance art ( and somehow escaped, intact ).

Ivy league? Haha! I wish.
I imagine I said something like that to upset our friends Spikey and Kela!

Oh, someone who likes to argue... welcome back.
I'm salivating. I look forward to some good intellectual discourse.
(I just like to argue, that's what I do for a living)

There hasn't been a good arguement in a while, has there. I was sort of hoping to see more from the Cleo - mymemory post-off, but that never really materialized, mymemory never came back to back up his side of the fight.
Hopefully that will change soon.

yea, i was bummed that MM didn't at least follow-up on his first tactical cleo bombshell. attaching a retort in your signature doesn't really count.
there was some pretty fierce battles on the morpheus thread between myself, mischief, amb-lemmon and timothy. nothing like getting your first warning from arn....:)

Post the link, I'd be interested in reading up on some history. I haven't gotten the warning yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it never happens. I've gotten a little worked up on a couple of posts, but so far I've managed to stay cool.

i'll try and find it this afternoon. heck, i even think i got a post deleted on it. i was actually more amused than worked up.
the one lesson i've learned ( again recently...)is that if a poster starts quoting their one book or paper mantra-its a waste of time to reply. as my mother used to tell me back in texas: " don't argue with a fencepost".
still not sure what she meant, but i think it applies here.:D

the early days in 2000 and early-2001 were wild and there did not seem to be any warnings and the rule of thumb seemed to be, "the worse your behavior is, the more like steve jobs you are and that is ok"
i mean, look who is one of the role models for the macheads

Oh, no no no.... there is nothing more fun than arguing with a fencepost. I for one love arguing with people who take their beliefs as fact. Heck, I love arguing with my inlaws about politics, religion, anything, just to challenge perspectives.
Usually, it isn't a good idea to argue with someone so entrenched in their views that they can't move. If you do, all that happens is that everyone gets mad, but in the end, nothing has changed and the fencepost hasn't moved.
Now, for me, I often don't care if you agree with me, just so long as you make decent arguements and listen to counterpoints. Nothing is worse than someone who just talks and talks without listening to the counterpoints.
Well, it took me 30 minutes to write this post (hearings and stuff), so I better wrap it up before it loses all relevance.
