I just bought a refurbished iPhone for $249, haven't opened it yet. My T-mobile contract will be over by October 08, so I'm thinking about jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhone for the time being, then after my current contract is over I'll switch to AT&T's iPhone plan. And its alright if the iPhone has to go back to the jail again, I can live with that. ;)

So is this possible? Can I bring the iPhone back to the pre-activation state after 6 month of jailbreak? Will AT&T find out it was jailbreaked during the activation process and decline my request?

Thanks!:p

Yep, yep, nope.

Allow me to explain... When you restore your baseband and then restore the phone's OS, you go back to the original, unpatched, unhacked, unjailbroken state. It is as though you have never turned on your phone before.

Projectle,

I wanted to know if you can switch back to AT&T. I have the iPhone 3G. I bought it jailbroken and unlocked. Can i restore it and still use it with my SIM? Do i have to bring it to the apple store?
