T-mobile + iphone, London GPRS/EDGE problem

I have an unlocked iphone and i'm using t-mobile in london. I activated web'n'walk unlimited (£7.50/month) and i have a empty white block on my home screen there is no "G or E" inside now i live in central london so surely i should be getting gprs when i try check my e-mail it says "you are not subscribed to edge" i have searched the internet and people have it working so any ideas? thanks.

That's normal, you only get the E on O2. Have you set the iPhone up to use GPRS ?
