External Hard drive is constantly being read

Hello all,
I have a Western Digital Passport 250gb external hard drive connected up to my Macbook Pro running Leopard 10.5.2. When it is connected, the hard drive is constantly being read and the drive will not eject as it is "still in use". I thought it could be spotlight, but it does not show that it is indexing the drive, so i'm all out of ideas.
Also, the drive is formatted as NTFS and I am using paragon NTFS drivers so I can read/write to it.

Any thoughts of what I can do to stop this?

try using 'lsof' in the terminal to show the current open files. It might give you a hint on what program/process is using the disk.
