Okay, I know when I plug one of my iPods in, iTunes will tell me there is purchased music on the iPod that isn't in my library, and it will ask if I want to tranfer them.

Here's the question though... I only lost a HANDFUL of files, so I don't want it copying EVERY purchased song on my iPod back to iTunes. Is it smart enough to only copy the missing files/songs?

I was afraid to allow it until I know the answer ;)

Thanks!

It will replace the purchased songs, shows, movies, etc that you have on your ipod that are not currently on your itunes. so if it is on your itunes it wont make a duplicate copy.

Use Senuti (http://www.fadingred.org/senuti/) to select the specific songs you want to transfer back from the ipod to the computer and then re-add them to iTunes, you may need to click and authorize them before they play.
