is MicroSoft still making software for Macs?

i just heard that Microsoft i no longer developing software for the mac. (ie. explorer, office).
can anyone here shed some light on this? is this true? any info on this would be great!

Mac Business Unit at Micro$oft is still definately making software for Macs. The only recent event that might have confused whoever told you this:

Micro$oft, realizing that IE for mac was a big waste of money if apple was going to develop its own software (Safari) , announced that it was not going to release any new versions of IE for Mac.

For reference, Micro$oft seems to be expanding its line-up of Mac-apps- it bought VPC (Virtual PC) recently.

MS no longer makes Internet Explorer for Mac because Apple made their own browser Safari, which is much better. IE for Mac was very slow

MS still makes Office for Mac--latest version called Office X, next version expected in about 1 yr.

With explorer it wasn't really a surprise or a problem. Microsoft had not updated explorer since like 2001 (or whenever they came out with the os x version), so it wasn't like they were actively developing it to stay up to date anyway.

Still, IE was the first non-Apple OS X app..... going way back to the DP-versions.
You guys remember those verisons of OS X??? Was kinda hard to believe then that Panther would be as gr8 as it is now.

Actually, MS is not developing IE as an individual application on any platform. The current version of IE on Windows is the last as well. MS announced that all major upgrades in the future would come with OS upgrades like Longhorn.
