Hi Guys,

I have a question. Last year I bought a Macbook Pro for my job.

The specs on the machine I bought:

Macbook Pro 15inch
2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
3GB RAM
160GB 5400rpm HDD

I’ve just seen the updated Macbook Pro on the Apple site and I am wondering what would be the cost in trading in/upgrading my machine to the following:

Macbook Pro 15inch
2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB RAM
250GB 5400 rpm HDD
Apple Remote – are they not part of “what’s in the box” anymore??

What are my options here guys?

cheers!

I don't think you can trade in. You can sell you current machine to recuperate the costs of the new one.

Apple doesn't do trade ins to my knowledge. They would love for you to buy a new one and then "recycle" your old one for free. I wish people would "recycle" their old Macs with me to. Your best bet is to just buy a new one and sell the old one on eBay if you can't live without it. Or you could sell it first, then use the money to buy a new one.

Apple Resellers might do trade ins, but you will make the most $$$ by selling it on your own. Also, I suggest not going for the 2.6 since the difference over the 2.5 is negligible, especially at the price. Also, don't upgrade with Apple RAM, buy 3rd party and install yourself.
