Okay so I'm having a kinda festival for my 18th bday party in the summer (never had a birthday party before =[) and I'm gonna be doing loadsa different songs live with a good band, but also some cover songs, and I'm planning on doing 15 Step by Radiohead.

Those of you familiar with the song - could you tell me how you think this sounds?

edit: the first few seconds are just glitches, which are meant to be there...

I've added in some fake 'real drums' after about 28 secs just so I can hear what it'll sound like vaguely, although a drummer will be doing this on the night.

Whadya think? It's all done in Reason so I can fiddle about with it as much as I like.

Its pretty good. You are adding the guitar right? seeing as it makes the song.
Make sure you get that and you'll be all set.

Yeh there's gonna be:
• guitar
• bass
• vocals
• drummer
- all good musicians

I'm gonna be doing the electronic drums/sampling side of things and the synth parts.

yeah then your totally set. You should record some of it. I wanna hear how 15 step comes out.

I'll most likely be recording the whole thing (multitracking) so it should sound good...

to make it sound a little less digital (and perfect) I would play with ramdomizing the velocity, placement and possibly pitch ...

also, you kick doesn't have enough "umph" to it ... and possibly bring the "claps" down a bit...

good start though

Sounds good.

A mini festival for your 18th is a really nice idea. We expect pictures and sound recordings, of course :)

ofc =] I'm sure there'll be loadsa vids from people's mobiles.

I'm also planning on recording the whole thing (multitracking) as long as my dad lets me use his MacBook (I'll be using my MBP on stage).
