That looks like a nice case. I wish they'd refine the are near the Apple logo a bit better.
Are these built for protection or looks? I've been thinking of getting a case of some sort for my 15" PowerBook.

Curious as to how well it handles heat dissipation.

I don't want to sound childish, but EWWWWWWWW!!! YUCKY!!!!
The laptop was stunning before. Now it bears no resemblance to the original industrial design.

It offers the same level of protection that can be expected of a Booq sleeve. Both will offer protection against bumps and nicks but really offer no drop protection.

So far, I have not noticed anything abnormal. There is a slot on the bottom to allow heat to dissipate. I think it would be comparable to using a Speck case.

I agree that you can't see the beautiful look of the laptop. But I needed some protection that could be on full time and after looking at similar products, the Case-Mate looks and performs better.

Looks nice, but those are too pricey for me. I'll stick with my Speck for now.

Yeah, I was thinking about the heat issue as well.
Steve likes aluminum because it's an excellent conductor. I doubt the Carbon Fiber is a good conductor, probably a great insulator though.

I have a Macally black leather case over my 13" Macbook. I think the look is smarter than the fibercase though I guess it's the same idea.
