I'd reconsider switching to Mac right now if I wasn't fed up with Windows.

Because you're scared that you'd be stupid enough to install software like that yourself? Trojans have to be installed by the end user, they don't spread on their own like a virus.

Trojans are nothing new to Mac. There are several...Termite, HellRaiser, WinJack1.1, Sub7ME, Xover...etc, etc. Now, compared to Windows, this is nothing. But as far as reconsidering about buying a Mac....come on. What about other operating systems? Linux? BSD?

I've had my Windows computer for over a year and I've yet to get any sort of virus or spyware.
Famous last words. You are making a mistake based on your understanding of viruses and their purposes. Some viruses and other malware may interfere with your computers normal operation, but most of the well-written ones do not. Their purpose is to make money for their authors. They won't be particularly effective if they reveal themselves. Download McAfee and run a scan. You will be surprised.
