I am running Leopard (10.5.2 to be exact) and when I print a document that has items too close to the sides, top, or bottom those items are cut off (for example if a graphic fully extends to the side of a page it is cut off slightly). To be exact, each page is cut off 1/8 inch from each edge, 1/16 inch from the top, and 1/2 inch from the bottom. This is most likely a limitation of my printer not being able to print all the way to each side, but I would like to resolve it, because if I print the same document on a windows machine with the same printer it scales the document so that it doesn't cut anything off.
My other issue is that when I am viewing a PDF in Safari and select "Print" > "Save as PDF" it shifts the entire document down and to the left, cutting off the bottom and the left of the document. If I open the same document in Preview instead of Safari and select "Print > Save as PDF" then it produces an exact replica of the original. Why does Safari mess up when saving as PDF, but preview does not (again, they are using the same source PDF).
Please help me to print PDFs and other documents in OS X without cutting off the edges and also please help me fix the Safari print to PDF issue.
Thanks!
