Nice connection. I personally think that the McDonalds/Apple 1 billion songs deal is true, and was just leaked, and now they have to deny it. This wireless thing makes some sense too. That would be so cool.

I think that is a great idea for McDonalds to offer wireless. Nice comment that now you can get a byte and bite at McWireless. Maybe we will have one in Boston soon.

Who has time to figure out how to pay? Than how to connect? You have to buy some goofy "pre-paid" card to use the service. Who spends that much time in McDonald's? I try to eat and get the heck out of those places. All the loud kids, stinky food, uncomfortable seats and circus colors make me nuts.

This idea is going to tank.

It needs to be free and an "open" network for it to work. Just get within range and it will connect automatically.

Nobody spends that much time in Mickey D's.

A representative from the pilot program company (WayPort) came to our MUG and passed out free 2 hour session coupons. He couldn't answer our questions about whether or not it'd work with a Mac, however. An unconfirmed report from a colleague suggests its a windows-only wireiess thing in the sense that you login to a page with MSIE for windows and it stuffs a proxy server somewhere in the windows networking configuration for you to surf the net.

I have used the service and it works just fine, all though a little slow for wireless. I have TiBook and it was pretty painless and the registration was simple and the cost less then most other services.

too bad it's a pay service. that's crap. why would i want to connect from inside McDowell's anyway? It stinks in there. What about some perv looking up porn and eating a cheesburger?

this is just a bad idea. so is their food.

It's for those people who just have to be connected at all times--why, you might miss that deal-making email and have to get back to them a whole FIVE minutes later without your trusty wireless connection!!

One of the most dangerous things we ever did was getting our extreme type-A senior VP a cellphone and Blackberry. Can't be unconnected for even a second, y'know--you might miss something. Something Important (tm).
