Good day guys.

I just picked up a MacPro Dual 2.8 Quad cores computer 2 gig's memory

I just ordered (OWC) 4gigs of memory

I know with windows computer this is somthing to think about but not sure with mac's still kinda new.

well memory in the mac are 2x 1gig sticks
the new memory is 2x 2gig sticks

Should i put the new memory in empty slots or should i put them in slot one and move the old sticks down.

ie will larger memory sticks in slot one benifit read and write speads at all?

Welcome to MR

Many common questions are answered in the Guides, under the Guides tab at the top of the window.

Hardware: MR Guide to Installing RAM
(http://guides.macrumors.com/Installing_RAM)

Your machine delivers with 1 GB each in Riser A slot 1 and Riser B slot 1.

This cannot stay the same. You must install the 2 x 2 GB into A1 A2
and relocate the Apple RAM to B1 B2

There is a forum dedicated to the MacPro too, by the way. This would be the MacBook forum. *Just stating the obvious*
