Description:: Sure, we’ve all read those lists of tweaks you can make to your system to increase productivity, but what if you’re not in such an all-fired hurry to get things done? What if you’re already plenty efficient, and actually need to slow things down a bit until that five o’clock whistle blows? Well, lucky for you, we’ve compiled a list of the top ten best ways to slow down your system, and decrease productivity. Please feel free to add your favorites in the comments. (Oh, and we by no means recommend you do any of these to your friends’ computers, even if it IS April 1st).

Oh, I thought this was something new.

Your productivity is already zero. How can you expect them to release something to make it even lower? ;) :D I guess you could secure erase your hard drive while you're watching teh pr0n, so that you not only get nothing done but also delete any work you did in the past. :D

Cool :D

"Remove everything from your dock, and make it huge"

I actually had done that once for the heck of it!

More tips:

* Turn off scroll-zooming but turn ON zooming in Universal Access--set to a massive size.

* Calibrate your display to a vague orange fog.

* Swap your shift/alt/command/capslock keys around in Keyboard Preferences (under Modifier Keys).

* Hit Control-Option-Command-8. Now, in Keyboard Shortcut prefs, assign that to be Command-S instead.

* Heck, why not change ALL the keyboard shortcuts to something else.

* Set login to require you to type your name rather than clicking your picture.

* Transfer permissions on all your stuff to another account, so every little thing requires an admin password.

* Custom CSS stylesheet to make all fonts 3-point, in black on light black.

* 640x480 or bust! And run Quartz Debug (in the dev tools) to make everything 200% on top of that. Enjoy using the "File" and "Ed" menus. They're all you've got.

All my computers are set up this way, actually... it's just a (minimal) security measure... one more piece of info anyone trying to hack it doesn't need to have is a manifest of all the accounts on the computer.
