SW Update progress bar jumps back on multiple installs

This is horribly trivial, but I have just done a re-install of Leopard, and I notice that when Software Update is installing more than one update, then after each one the progress bar jumps back to where it was at the beginning of that update (not necessarily the leftmost position, as download progress might already have been displayed).

Is this a known issue? I can't find mention anywhere, and items seem to install OK.
