Hi,
I just recently had a discussion with a friend who said NYC/Manhatten has lost 140 000 jobs in financial institutions. since then bear stearns went under and UBS thinks about lay offs in NYC.
that are shocking numbers and i wonder if they are true. when GM announced i think 20 000 lay offs it was all over the news. but there is almost nothing about the lay offs due to the banking crisis in NYC.
does anybody know how many people got laid off so far in manhatten? and where do they go? it must be tough because manhatten is extremely expensive and no jobs around.......:(
