I have a friend that wants to sell his 20" Imac but he doesn't know if it's a Intel process or or what. He purchased it about a year and a half to two years ago. I'm fairly new myself to Macs and don't know what processor it would be. What version of processor was being used then? What would it be worth, it's like new he hardly used it?

Thanks

If he looks at About This Mac... under the Apple menu (top Left) it'll say.

It'll either be a Core Duo or a Core2 Duo.

Click the Apple Menu, and choose 'About This Mac'

You will see a window similar to the two shown. The reason I've done two is so you can see the differences between a G4 Mac mini and an Intel Core 2 Duo Mac mini.

I've hightlighted where it shows you the processor and speed.

hope this helps

my guess is that it was the iMac without the camera. Or maybe the first ones with the camera?

It'll be a G5 then. I have the G5 (iSight), which was the first one with the camera.

according to lowendmac.com, the G5 iMac (isight) was introduced in october of 2005, the intel core duo iMac in january of 2006, and the the core2 duo iMac came along in september of 2006

based on those dates, it seems likely that the OP is talking about the core duo intel imac
