Battery-health issue

Hi,

I think that my Battery-Life goes down far too fast! I got my MBA on 2nd March and only one month later the batterylife is at 96% according to iStat pro.
I only used it at home, most of the time plugged in, sometimes not. University starts in 14 days where I will actually need/use it. Here are some battery-stats from the system. So tell me, is that normal?

Well, I've had mine just about as long as you (March 6 purchase) and it all sounds about right.

Like you, I mostly keep mine plugged in except for the times that I have to tote it to client presentations and stuff.

I'm guessing "Anzahl der Zyklen" means Battery Cycle?

If so, then 10 is alright - I have 9 on mine currently.

I understand that the MBA's battery lasts up to over 300 cycles, so considering you've used up 10 in a month - it adds up to something like 30 months battery life, with that average in mind.

I've got nearly 40 cycles on my MBA... but then, I use it unplugged a lot; it only gets used plugged in at home by my PC, or if I'm between classes at school and it needs charging.

Most of those battery health things are only estimates, with such a small amount of data to use, it's bound to be less than accurate. Also, 300 cycles is a little low, IMO. The battery monitor I use claims my battery will die sometime in 2012. At my current rate, that's more like 1500 cycles.

Finally, due to the nature of Lithium-ion batteries, leaving it plugged in with the laptop running all the time is about the worst thing you can do for battery life; they are temp-sensitive, and the closer to full charge they are stored, the faster they lose total capacity. Wikipedia has a nice chart.

Mine's at 24 cycles and battery health 94% right now.

from istat pro, i m on 18th cycle and health is 100, but it stayed at 98 before. do not think it's very accurate. just don't charge for too long..

Mine is sitting here after a day at 96% :confused: Thats what iStat says anyway. I have applecare on this mini boy so hopefully if I come across any serious battery problems there will be a quick replacement!!!
