Is there a word called comparation? Have never seen it before. Did I learn something new?

Did you learn something new? You'll have to be the judge of that, but I'm guessing from your post that you didn't.

Since this is a site with people from various countries, speaking many different languages, then perhaps it's not correctly spelled in whatever is your native language, but if you look at the replies, then the people who responded to the topic knew what the question was.

BTW, since you seem to believe that you are in command of the King's English, you should spend some time correcting your 2nd sentence before someone points it out. Oops! Sorry, someone just did.

I can just barely hear the fans; even with my exhaust at 1,000 RPM.

Did something bYte you? I just asked a naive question if there was a word called comapration. My MS Word says there is no such word. The web is full of 'comparation'. Why would I insult someone when English is my 3rd langauge and every 2nd sentence I write is wrong (as you pointed out).

I just wondered if the OP was using president's English.

Sorry for the misunderstanding as English is my 2nd language; Southern American being my first. Good point on the "president's English" The OP could possibly the President.

Grow up.

No problem, Roy. It was just a little joke. Why are people so tensed up here?

Not that I condone the slight jab at the OP's english, but, this has to be the most 'PC' Apple message-board I've ever come across.

It's annoying.

I'm sure the OP is a big boy and can stick up for himself, if he feels the need to.

I sincerely thought that comparation was a valid word. Google on it. Check this out http://digg.com/general_sciences/used_and_new_cars_comparation
but, as I mentioned earlier, my word processor didn't like it. So I just wanted to clarify. That's all.

A lot of people think it's a valid word. It's common -- don't sweat it. My mistake for interpreting it as a jab.
