What is in Mail, the easiest way to copy an attachment from one email into another


(I am a fomer windows / Outlook user and started only recently with Mac)
 
yeah that sounds real easy
however if one opens an email with attachment and then opens a new blank email, the old email with attachment automatically dissapears.
so no where to dragg the attachment to

alternative
save the attachment first to downlaads and then from there attach it to a new email is a rather unhandy way to proceed

This is not true. The attachment remains with its message, partially completed or blank. You may use the Windows menu to bring the incomplete message back to the front at any time. If you quit Mail before you send the message, then you will be prompted to save it as a draft. If you lose power before you finish the message, then your message, attachment and all, will be in your Drafts folder.

The takeaway message is that Mail keeps your unsent messages and attachments as safe a baby in its mother's arms.
 
Indeed. The original message will remain open, you just may not be able to see it without moving the new message over 🙂
 
The EASY way

Just drag the attachment over the Mail icon in the dock. When you let go it will open a new mail message with that attachment included. Very easy!
