iChat alway opens two windows

Whenever i start a new chat, ichat always opens TWO chat windows and i have to close one. Sometimes i want to punch ichat in the face. Does this happen for you guys?

Sounds like one is Bonjour (for people on your network), go to iChat->Accounts and untick Bonjour if its ticked.

no it's not, i still want to punch ichat in the face....

BUT i do have two accounts associated w. ichat, one jabber, one aim.

however the users this is happening with are under my aim buddy chat not my jabber one. if this is happening because of having multiple accounts then this is a stupid program. because that should be accounted for.

I'm having the exact same issue. Did you ever figure out how to fix this?

if you don't use the VIDEO chat switch to Adium!

or try disabling Jabbler and seeing if it still happens.
