Hi,

I have a 24" iMac C2D 2.16Ghz (White) and am looking at a RAM upgrade. I know the standard RAM supported is 667Mhz however is 800Mhz compatible?

Thanks,

Rick

Is it a SR Penryn ?

if so you might want to look at this thread

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/465127/

The faster memory is causing problems and is more expensive than the "correct 667MHz" memory.

Did you even read the first post?

Does it sound like a Penryn iMac (which by the way hasn't even been announced yet)?

Anyways Logana is right, you get no benefit from it and it might even cause more problems than it will solve.

Thanks for the info guys. I've ordered 667Mhz...cant see the point going for the 800Mhz if its likely to cause problems.

I got a pretty good deal. 3Gb (1x 1GB stick, 1x 2GB stick) for just under £30 (GBP) from http://www.7dayshop.com who are a pretty decent company.

Granted its unbranded memory, but its going to be better than the current 1GB I've got :p
