I am looking for a good quality sound system for use with my iMac 24/SD. I'm not interested in theatre systems, merely for listening to music stored on my computer. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your comments and review Tom. Accordingly, I'm inclined to purchase the Blue Sky EXPO 2.1 system

Anyone used the Logitech Z4?

Im not looking to spend tons of cash. I personally think the iMac internal speakers are loud enough, just have ZERO bass. Frys has these Z4s for $50, but they didnt have any demo models to listen to.

Yes. I have the Z-4i's at my dad's house in New York. If thats what you want then sure, go with those. You wont hear roaring bass with those, but it should suit you.

I have a pair of AudioEngine A5. They are suppose to be on par with thousand dollar speakers. These are costly, but if you search AVSforum they are rated pretty highly.

You can also add a subwoofer of your choice. These are audiophile speakers!

AudioEngine A5.... incredible sound quality... head and shoulders above the vein of "computer" speakers, they are audio grade speakers which do compare to expensive, premium grade competitors.
Here's how I use them for music from iTunes on my Mac as well as for audio from the Samsung 26" Di-Def TV. They are also feeding an M&K 12" powered sealed sub (out of view) which makes the whole system sound unbelievable. I must say the A5's are superb even without the M&K sub.

Well I dont know it thats what I want :p
Would you say the Z4s are much better than the internal speakers and worth $50 at least? Dont need 'roaring bass' either, just SOME bass.

It depends on how much bass you are looking for. The Z-4is will offer a decent amount, yes, better than the internal speakers.

Bose companion 2's, believe it or not, have to much bass coming out of one shared driver. its amazing, i even had to make my own itunes equalizer to adjust the bass and make it equal to the treble, if its possible to send your equalizer's, I can send you it.
but idk if thats what you want, they are $100, and awesome sound quality, but sometimes i think my internal speakers have a plus i think its the louder sound cuz of the sound bouncing off my desk, but the BC2's can go loud.

Well, I use a set of Z-5500's, so I can't really compare since mine are in a different league then yours. If they offer an amount of bass that he's looking for for the same price as the Z-4 (-1 speaker), it could result in a cleaner desktop since you wont have to worry about placing a subwoofer somewhere.
