Hey all, got my mother a mac mini last Christmas and she hasn't installed Leopard yet. It was shipped with the Leopard disk, but actually had Tiger running. I have a macbook and was wondering if I could install Leopard on both our machines using the same disk? Or is there some kind of serial number protection like Windows uses?

Usually Leopard discs that ship with machines are machine-specific. It can be a gamble whether it will work properly on another machine.
Besides that, using one Leopard disc to install on multiple systems does break the license agreement.
That said, there's no serial numbers or activation. Apple relies on your willingness to do the right thing.

I did it with the copy of Leopard I got with my iMac back in November. If it was a drop-in copy with the computer when Leopard came out you should be able to do the same.
I'm not sure about the Leopard install disks otherwise, whether they are the same or not.
