Finally some health study that I want to act on. (well besides that reduce prostate cancer risk study. ;))

Story here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3248455.stm)

A study by scientists in the United States has found that a cup of hot cocoa is rich in powerful antioxidants.

Previous studies have also shown these chemicals, which can protect against a range of diseases and reduce the effects of ageing, are found in cocoa.

However, this latest study suggests cocoa may be richer in antioxidants than better known "healthy" drinks like tea and red wine.

(I would have acted on the red wine thing, but I don't drink so....)

I have heard this form other studies that chocolate has antioxidant properties. Since I don't drink wine it is good that I can also have something that tastes good. Now I know that when I'm have some chocolate, I'm doing something good for my health.

So if I combine this with the study that says one drink a day is healthful even if it's not red wine, then I can lace my daily healthy hot chocolate with something stronger and call my nightcap a health tonic? ;) :D

For every study that says one thing, another will come out in a couple years saying the opposite. I think the key is: all things in moderation. Including chocolate.

drinking ibarra, mexican choco, right now ...

definitely like to see that. also because the chocolate is about the only thing that i eat that has any fat in it. (well, dark chocolate and not that much of it).

I hear dark choco is the best for you anyways. Least amount of cocao butter involved or something to that effect. Was drinkin the Ibarra in my coffee yesterday myself, and now having heard that coffee is also good for preventing colon cancer, figure I'm doubling up on the health benefits!

But the medical uses for coffee don't include drinking it.

 Take that pot of coffee and shove it up your ass. ;)

Something about the doctors prescribing coffee hydrotherapy, colonics, enemas, etc. for that fresh from the Starbutts feeling.
