I have done some searching and all I have found is "it can be done". I had to re-image my machine and before doing so, I did a Time Machine backup. After re-installing everything (software, not backup data), I went into Browse Backups in TM and everything that I expected was there. I clicked on restore library and the gigs of data transferred to my machine...however, all my events are gone. All the images came over in a giant unnamed Event! 😱

Does anyone know how to restore my events???

Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. I've managed to restore 2000+ photos using Time Machine but I can't restore my events - I've just got a single event with thousands of photos in it. I can see the old events in Time Machine but have no clue how to restore these. Anyone have any ideas??

iPhoto and Time machine

Hi

I've had exactly the same problem as you describe. The way I've found to get round it is NOT to start iPhoto, but to enter Time Machine, and in the Time Machine find the file containing your photos (in My Photos) and restore THAT

Then when it's done, start iPhoto, and you'll have your photos AND events

Hope it works for you like it worked for me - 2598 photos, 200 events

Regards

Peter
