Is it SAFE to provide bidders to my macbook serial?

i've posting a listing on craigslist to sell my 2.16C2D white macbook with 2GB RAM and 120GB HD....i got asked for its serial....granted my email to this person will contain my full name....is it safe for this inquiring person to have both my name and my whitebook serial number??

would i be scammed in any way with releasing these two pieces of info about me?

There was a thread on this earlier. I say if the person is serious about buying it, provide them with the serial. There isn't much they can do with it other than check its warranty, etc.

It's fine to give the serial number. The serial number can reveal an approximate build date and any warranty info from Apple.
