If I ordered an iPhone online, can I return it at the Apple store?

If I ordered a phone from apple.com, and never open it, can I return it at an Apple retail store?
 
only for a store credit though, if you want the money back on your credit card you have to ship it back to the online store.
 
wait seriously? I don't want store credit - i want the money on the card - can someone confirm this?
