what to buy

Today and the past few weeks I have been looking @ mac pros I well be doing a little of everything photos,video etc....What would you buy:apple:

2.66X2ghz with 2gb ram stock hdd-1949.99 open box model locally :apple:

new model mac pro refurbished from apple 2399.99:apple:

please help wanna buy by the end of the week would all the extra money be worth in plan to have 3-5 years any big changes in models-Thanks:apple:

I'd definitely take the refurbished comp. Faster/better procs and I wouldn't pay $2k for what basically qualifies as a 'used' computer in the 2.66Ghz model.

I would get the new one if your want it to last longer. However if you need to save money or don't think you need all the power than get the old Model, But the new one has far superior technology inside.

I wouldn't get the 2.66GHz one, those are going for less than $1500 on eBay. I got a 3.0GHz Quad Refurb from Apple for $2199, added third party RAM and HDs, so I have a fully decked 3.0GHz Mac with 3 HDs and 16GB of RAM for around $3000. Not bad at all.

Amazingly fast. I might have gotten an 8-core if I had really thought about it, for the extra boost. But running a decked out quad 3.0 with 16GB of RAM and a RAID0 dual 500GB as a boot drive, well, it's pretty darn fast.
