I saw the Newton rumor, and am pretty excited!
Wouldn't it be awesome if apple introduced a PDA with a hard drive!! The top of the line now holds 64MB or space. Talk about blowing away the competition. I'll take a new Apple Newton with 10 GB of memory!!

Battery life is likely to be poor, by PDA standards.

Just wondering, what will you store in a PDA besides mp3 that you need 10 GB?

umm.....everything. You could put your business keynote presentations on it. You could boot up to any mac from your PDA, although that is possible with ipod.

Lots of stuff

i look at all the pda's out now and it all seems like there not very good. but it seems like it could be such an incredibly useful device, i don't understand why it hasn't evolved to something a lot better than it is right now. i think its mainly cause of the os on these things...they all seem to be different and all more complicated than need be, its a simple device and it should have a simple interface.

everyone knows you don't need a fast computer to do things like, take notes, email, browse, calendar and task things...a pda strong enough to do all this stuff would be amazing...powered by a simple os x...use isync to sync everything and for christ sake someone invent a popular why to inexpensivly get these things high bandwidth connections for browseing and email

Apple did say that they wouldn't go into the PDA market.

Yet that would exclude addons for current PDAs...

Imagine being able to buy Pocket PCs but being able to put a mini OSX on it instead of Windows CE that would sync with Mail, iCal, AddressBook, etc. Maybe create an hd adapter, possibly left up to formac or belkin though.
