firewire and xppro?

how's firewire working under xppro on a macpro?

specifically, i'm thinking of folding my two workstations, one
for video, one for audio, into a single station, a macpro. would
use osx for fcp but my audio station is on windows xppro. for
the audio side i'd need to install xppro. my audio device is a
presonus firepod, a firewire audio device. been hearing some
vague things about firewire problems with running such devices
on a mac under windows.

anyone have any opinions or details on the workability of my
proposed scenario?
